Adil Mansuri


A leading Gujarati ghazal writer, Adil Mansuri, passed away today at his residence in New Jersey in the US at the age of 72.

Mansuri has written in Gujarati as well as in Urdu and has several published collections of poetry and drama to his credit. Even after migrating to the USA two decades ago, he continued to remain active in writing Gujarati language.

While he was leaving for the U.S., he wrote this famous poem on Ahmedabad ..Nadi ni ret ma ramtu...

નદી ની રેત મા રમતુ નગર મળે ના મળે ,
ફરી આ દ્રશ્ય સ્મૃતિપટ ઉપર મળે ના મળે.

ભરી લો સ્વાસ મા ઍનિ સુગંધ નો દરિઑ,
પછી આ માટી ની ભીની અસર મળે ના મળે.

પરીચીતો ને ધરાઈ ની જોઈ લેવા દો,
આ હસતા ચહેરા આ મીઠી નજર મળે ના મળે.

ભરી લો આંખ મા રસ્તાઓ, બારીઓ, ભીંતો,
પછી આ શહેર, આ ગલીઓ, આ ઘર મળે ના મળે.

રડીલો આજ સંબંધો ને વીંટળાઈ ને અહીં,
પછી કોઈ ને કોઈની ખબર મળે ના મળે.

વાળવા આવ્યા છે તે ચહેરા ફરશે આંખો મા,
ભલે સફર મા કોઈ હમસફર મળે ના મળે.

વતન ની ધૂળ થી માથુ ભરી લાઉ 'આદિલ'
આ ધૂળ પછી ઉમ્ર-ભર મળે ના મળે.

Three famous personalities responsible for India and Pakistan

Jinnah was the eldest of seven children born to Mithibai and Jinnahbhai Poonja. His father, Jinnahbhai (1857–1901), was a prosperous Gujarati merchant who had moved to Sindh from Kathiawar, Gujarat shortly before Jinnah's birth.His grandfather was Poonja Meghji, a Bhatia from Paneli village in Gondal state in Kathiawar. Jinnah was responsible for separation of Pakistan from independent india.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbander, a coastal town in present-day Gujarat, Western India, on 2 October 1869. His father, Karamchand Gandhi, who belonged to the Hindu Modh community, was the diwan (Prime Minister) of the eponymous Porbander state, a small princely state in the Kathiawar Agency of British India. The major force behind indian independence from british rule.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a political and social leader of India who played a major role in the country's struggle for independence and guided its integration into a united, independent nation. In India and across the world, he was often addressed as Sardar (Gujarati: સરદાર), which means Chief in many languages of India.Sardar was born at his maternal uncle's house in Nadiad, Gujarat .He was the fourth son of Jhaverbhai a Hindu by religion and his wife Ladba Patel. They lived in the village of Karamsad, in the Kheda district where Jhaverbhai owned a homestead He was the genious and its by his efforts , we dont have to take visa to travel from one state of India to another.
